Secret Address: Rachel White's Web accessories boutique, Jemznjewels.com
gives hope to all those who are not willing to stick out the year-plus
waiting list for Kelly bags at Hermes stores. Her site is chock full of
them as well as many other classic styles, thanks to the
wear-it-once-and-discard-it practice of New York society women. They cut
their losses, and White profits with nearly new Prada, Fendi, and Louis
Vuitton bags which she sells for prices well below retail. "One woman just
brought in sixty-five Chanel bags," she reveals. "And three-quarters of
them still had the tags on." Need we say more?

December 2000 "Ultimate Holidays Online" Guide
Just listen to what Nicole Phelps of Elle Magazine said about Jemznjewels,
in the December "Ultimate Holidays Online" Guide.
"The Web is full of used, second-hand, and remaindered objects. If
only every hand-me-down were as covetable as the luxury goods found on
Rachel White's year-old site, Jemznjewels (www.jemznjewels.com). The thirty-six-year
old specializes in previously used and new accessories by Chanel, Gucci,
Hermes, and Louis Vuitton, among others. Shown here, a bordeaux alligator
shoulder bag ($3700) made by Hermes in the '80s." |

December 2000 "Index Scoop" pg 388
Amy Astley of Vogue Magazine,
"New York consignment queen Rachel White moves in mysterious ways;
how, for example, did she come by her impressive current cashe of vintage
Gucci bags? And all pristine, unused condition, even stuffed with their
original(!) tissue paper? She's not telling, but you can check out the
entire trove (plus plenty of previously but gently owned Hermes and
Chanel accessories) on www.jemznjewels.com"
